Ever wanted to have a go at hand building or throwing on the potter's wheel? Have a go at one of these workshops, create your own designs and learn about ways of obtaining colour and glazing. But watch out, these courses are addictive, you may be back for more!

Ceramics

During the year you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience of a wide range of approaches, from hand building to throwing on a potter's wheel - all the basic skills of the ceramicist will be covered. You will be able to develop many surface techniques from texture to slip-decoration, discover ways of obtaining colour and learn about glazing for both earthenware and stoneware clays. Suitable for beginners and more experienced practitioners.

Ceramics - Mould making and slip Casting - NEW - April 2012

This seven week programme will introduce you to the process of making moulds to produce ceramic objects. Under expert tuition. Learn how to prepare plaster moulds and unlock the secrets of producing beautiful slip cast forms. Work can be developed using a variety of decorative processes.

Ceramics - Saturday - May

This one-day workshop will explore hand building techniques. It is suitable for beginners and more experienced practitioners.

Ceramics - Introduction to Throwing Saturday - April

Come and learn the traditional craft of throwing on the pottr's wheel.

This four-day workshop will allow students to explore form and construction. It is suitable for beginners and more experienced practitioners.
