To introduce students to the concept of counselling and the use of basic skills.
Who is the Course for?
Those who are considering adding counselling skills to their current skills base to enhance their professional role and those who are exploring the possibility of training for a career in counselling.

Theoretical concepts, practical exercises to practise basic skills.
Assessment
Yes - a written evaluation of learning during the course a practical role play and a written paper.
Equipment Required
Only the usual student materials, e.g. calculator, pens, paper and files.
After the Course
Use basic skills to be more effective and a communicator - progress to the Intermediate level of training.
