This eight-week course is designed for musicians (instrumentalists only) of all levels to focus on key aspects involved in musical performance. The course will cover arrangement, improvisation, dynamics and musical style. You will focus on two pieces as a group and a third piece of your own choice.

That's Jazz - Part 1 - Saturday
Learn to play Jazz with this six-week course which provides a comprehensive understanding of jazz harmony, melody, rhythm and improvisation. Two jazz pieces will be selected and worked on in small groups with attention given to the players' instrumental role. (Instrumentalists only)

Drum Workshop - Saturday
Professional drummer/Clinician Robert Brian (played with Siouxsie Sioux, Peter Gabriel, Jamie Cullum) will guide you through his one-day masterclass and demonstrate what drummers need to focus on to get a better musical understanding of their instrument. The masterclass will help drummers to improve their technique and musicality through practice pad and drum kit exercises.

This seven-week course will provide an excellent introduction to the basics of Apple Logic 8. On the course you will learn how to make a basic song, edit your own songs and utilise the features of this industry standard program. Prior to starting this course, learners should possess and be able to apply a good understanding in the use of Apple Mac computers or have successfully completed the Introduction to Apple Mac Computers.

Music with Logic Pro 8 - Part 3
Apple Certified Trainer and experienced electronic music producer Adam Wedge (www.soundcloud.com/djwedge) will deliver a masterclass on the professional working methods of the computer music producer. Along the way, he will reveal real-world techniques for mixing, editing, and producing, and share professional secrets for streamlining production workflows and constructing a mix to meet the most exacting standards. Experienced Logic users will find invaluable methods for manipulating tempo and pitch, fine-tuning audio and MIDI tracks, sampling audio, synthesising sounds, managing work flow, and getting the most out of Logic's audio instruments and plugins.

Recording Techniques - Part 1
In this seven-week course you will learn to record simple instruments and microphones into Apple Logic and Pro tools. You will also learn to record using basic microphone techniques. This course is aimed at those interested in recording at home and will be based in our main recording studio. You will learn how to record drums, pianos, vocals and guitars. Prior to starting this course, you should possess and be able to apply a good understanding in the use of Apple Mac computers or have successfully completed the Apple Mac Computers - Introduction (Music) course.

Recording Techniques - Part 2
In this seven-week course you will explore recording using the features of a mixing desk, basic signal routing and processing for a professional sound and some advanced microphone techniques, produce and mix a track. You should have successfully completed part one before attempting this level.
