Reflective practice for body massage
Anatomy and physiology for complementary therapies
Knowledge of less common pathology for complementary therapies
Provide reflexology
Reflective practice for reflexology
Provide aromatherapy
Reflective practice for aromatherapy
Principles and practice of complementary therapies
Business practice for complementary therapies
Health, safety and hygiene for complementary therapies
Additional unit:
Healthy eating and well-being for the complementary therapy client

Complementary Therapy Level 2
Course length
One year.
Methods of study
Continual assessments to include case studies, assignments, coursework, oral questioning and practical salon work.
Assessment
Units are internally and externally assessed. Continuous practical assessment is used to teach and develop vocational competence. On completion of each unit an externally set multiple choice theory paper must be undertaken.
Uniform, books & equipment required
Navy uniform & shoes at a cost of £90. Books and equipment will be required at extra cost TBC. Order forms will be supplied.
Code of dress
• Correct uniform must be worn in the beauty salon.
• Facial & tongue piercing is not permitted.
• Hair must be neatly tied back off the face.
• Nail extensions & varnish must not be worn.
• Only a small pair of stud earrings & a wedding ring are allowed to be worn in the salon.

Gain employment or continue to extend your skills in this sector by further study at City of Bath College and enrolling in Spa Level 3.
