VTCT NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy
Entry requirements
Youmust be 16 years of age or over and have at least 4 GCSEs at Grade D or possess a Level 1 Certificate in Beauty. Entry to the course is by interview with the Course leader who may advise a tasterday for the applicant to ensure a place on this course.
Aim of the course
This course specialises in developing skills necessary to work in Beauty Salons.
Who is the course for?
This qualification covers the main techniques used by Beauty Specialists in their treatments of the head, neck, hands and feet.

- Skin care and facial massage
- Make up
- Manicure and pedicure
- Waxing
- Eye lash and brow treatments
- Health and safety
- Promote products and services
- Develop effective work ethics
Assessment
Units are internally and externally assessed. Continuous practical assessment is used to teach and develop vocational competence. On completion of each unit an externally set theory paper must be undertaken.
Uniform, books & equipment required
Tunic, trousers, shoes, text books and equipment at an approximate cost of £300. Orders forms will be supplied.
Code of dress
- Navy uniform must be worn in the beauty salon.
- Facial & tongue piercing is not permitted.
- Hair must be neatly tied back off the face.
- Nail extensions & varnish must not be worn.
- Only a small pair of stud earrings & a wedding ring are allowed to be worn in the salon.
