Apprenticeships at City of Bath College
Apprenticeships have been the traditional route into learning a trade for hundreds of years. At City of Bath College we offer an apprenticeship programme that enables young people to learn, earn and qualify for their chosen profession.
If you are aged between 16 and 24 and would like to undertake a programme that combines work, learning and improving your core skills, and which leads to a recognised qualification, then an Apprenticeship is for you.
Apprenticeships typically last for two years and during that time the apprentice will spend time in College and at the employer’s workplace.
Our apprenticeship programmes are designed for young people who have either found an employer who wishes to take on an apprentice or are looking for help finding an employer. Apprentices are employed by their company and receive a minimum of £100 per week from their employer whilst learning. Click here for a list of our current vacancies.
All apprenticeship programmes at City of Bath College have at their core, a set of learning programmes designed to enhance and improve the application of number skills, communication skills and information technology skills required to operate in the workplace. In addition, the Apprentice will be working towards a National Vocational Qualification at level 2 or 3 and in some cases a technical certificate completes the framework.
During the two year programme, Apprentices will have regular reviews and workbased assessments with their occupational trainer, who will also involve the employer in the review and recording of progress towards the qualifications.
