Business and Management
Business BTEC Level 3 (National Diploma)
This course is ideal for anyone with an interest in how modern business environments in the UK and abroad operate and the key people and organisations within them. The course will focus on topics including types of business ownership, advertising and sales, business start-ups, and the role and power of modern global firms. On top of the key theory, learners will develop practical work-related skills for future employment.
Course content
The course consists of 18 units, including:
• Introduction to marketing
• Exploring creative product promotion
• Contract and business law
• Understanding financial accounting
• International business
• Managing a business event
• Starting a small business
To join the course
Four GCSEs at C (where possible to include English Language and Maths); or a BTEC First Diploma with a Merit profile in a related subject; or equivalent qualifications.
Course length
Two years

Classroom-based, with projects, reports, presentations, visits, guest speakers and working individually or in small groups.
Assessment
Coursework and presentations
