Construction, Engineering & Refrigeration
An ongoing shortage of construction workers in the UK means an ongoing demand for more qualified workers! At City of Bath College we offer you a number of routes into the industry, as well as other skilled Engineering and Craft trades.
If you enjoy practical and design work, then a construction or engineering course could be for you. From Air Conditioning & Refrigeration to Carpentry & Joinery, we offer a range of flexible and specialised trade training to get you started in your chosen career.
Whilst some students enter the College with little or no knowledge of their chosen profession, learning through classroom and workshop settings, there are also numerous opportunities for Apprenticeships and work-based learning for those already in employment.
All of our teaching staff have a background in construction and engineering, and the College is one of only three Centres for Vocational Excellence in Stonemasonry in the country. The purpose-built Construction Skills Centre includes specialist workshops, where students learn largely through doing, supported by some classroom learning. There is a heavy emphasis on work experience, and the College has strong links with local employers, helping our students to find employment in the area.
