This programme is suitable for those who are looking for an introduction into the Building Services Engineering industry. The award covers plumbing, electro-technical, heating and ventilating, and refrigeration and air conditioning.
It is suitable for anyone wanting to work within building services engineering and is appropriate for full-time learners leaving school and wishing to pursue a career in the industry. On completion of this programme you can progress to a range of Level 2 specialist NVQ qualifications, with employment, through an Apprenticeship programme.
This is the newly introduced access course to plumbing, electro-technical, heating and ventilating, and refrigeration and air conditioning and is unique in that it offers learners both Level 1 and 2 opportunities.
This course will help learners progress as a Plumber, or Heating Engineer in domestic properties. This dual pathway qualification is suitable for those full time learners who have successfully completed the 2000 Access to Building Services course, including the optional Level 2 components, and the associated Functional Skills, in Maths and English.
NB. To fully complete this qualification learners are required to have trade employment, although consideration will be given to applicants with suitable arranged Plumbing work experience.
This qualification is aimed at any learners who wish to enter a career in plumbing. Many employers are reluctant to take on apprentices because of the initial time taken for individuals to become able to carry out work activities and contribute to the business. This programme ensures that learners are able to carry out simple tasks from day one of their employment and, therefore make them more attractive as apprenticeships candidates.
This Level 2 Technical Certificate course is designed to provide learners with the required underpinning knowledge and skills to enable progression onto the Level 2 Plumbing NVQ
