The qualification
NOCN Entry 3 and Level 1 Diploma in Skills Towards Enabling Progression
Entry requirements
No formal qualifications are required but you will need an interview with the course leader to make sure this is the right course for you
Who is the course for?
Learners from 14-16 and 16-18 who would like to identify their individual and personal strengths in order to progress to post 16 study at a higher level or employment

Course content
There will be a range of core units that may include
- Induction to College
- Personal awareness
- Introduction to developing personal study skills
- Drug and alcohol misuse awareness
- Sex and Relationship education
- Job seeking skills
- Skills for employability
- Team working skills
- Developing skills for a healthy lifestyle
- Introduction to food, drink and cooking
- Introduction to personal budgeting and money management
You will also be able to study some vocational units and may be able to undertake some work or volunteering experience. You will also have the opportunity to take part in enrichment activities.
Assessment
Your work will be assessed by a variety of methods which will include some written tasks. You will build a portfolio of evidence from the units you have studied
Equipment required
You will need to provide your personal stationery and a file to store your completed work in
Extra costs
There are no extra costs other than the materials cost
After the course
Progression may be possible to the Pathways to Employment and Training course; to other level 1 vocational courses in the college; or to employment
