tempa film & tv production company works on funded and non-funded projects both internally and with external partners. In recent years the film production unit has received bursaries to produce a number of short films, a series of training films for teachers and a promotional web-video campaign for a local tourist board.
Filmmakers are encouraged to enter and attend short film competitions and each year we have a showcase of the best film work screened at The Little Theatre Cinema. Other commissions include the production of a webbased drama series, promotional videos for local charities and organisations and filming artistes playing at some of the many music festivals that occur in the City.
Company members are engaged on projects to produce content for tempa's on-demand digital tv channel (visit our webpage to view). This often requires collaborating with dancers, actors or musicians from tempa's other production companies to produce short films and promotional music videos and documentaries. Filmmakers will be trained in the creative, technical and business aspects of digital film production. This will involve learning to use industry standard digital video editing applications and high specification film production equipment; learning to write screenplays and learning how to prepare professional standard planning and proposal documents and pitching and presentation techniques.
