Swine Flu Advice
Please be aware that the new National Pandemic Flu Service website and helpline are now active:
Helpline: 0800 1513 100
Website: www.direct.gov.uk/pandemicflu or www.direct.gov.uk/swineflu (these links point to the same web page)
The advice is for people to get their symptoms assessed via one of these routes, although people with underlying health problems, pregnant women and the under ones are still being advised to contact a GP.
A checklist will be used by call centre staff and the website to decide whether people have swine flu. If the virus is suspected, they will be given a voucher number to give to a flu friend to take to a collection point to pick up anti-flu drugs.
In order to effectively assess and monitor the risks associated with a local outbreak, we would be grateful if anyone who has been affected by swine flu (either themselves or a close family member), could please
STAFF: advise their line manager and Laura Taylor in HR on taylorll@citybathcoll.ac.uk.
STUDENTS: follow normal absence reporting procedures, ie contact your tutor or department administrator and the EMA absence line if appropriate.
