Student Funding

This section explains the financial help you might get. We keep this information as up to date as we can but please phone the numbers below if anything is not clear.

What kind of help is available?

Bursary & Learner Support Fund 12/13

The Bursary & Learner Support Fund (LSF) can help students in a variety of different ways, including Travel and Childcare.

24+ Advanced Learning Loans - New for 2013/14

If you are 24 years old or above, a UK resident and studying a level 3 course (e.g. Extended Diploma, NVQ 3) you will be able to get a loan to cover your course fees.

Funding for Carers

If you provide regular unpaid care for someone else such as a family member, friend or neighbour, you can get help with funding for courses through the Give Us A Break Scheme.

City & Guilds Bursary

City & Guilds offer a bursary for students wishing to enrol on a course leading to a C&G qualification. This bursary can help with course fees, living costs, childcare, travel expenses or essential equipment.

Funding for HE Students

If you are enrolled on one of the College’s HE courses, you may be eligible for additional help.

Welsh Assembly Learning Grant

This grant is for students 19+ who live in Wales and are studying at least 275 guided learning hours.

Residential Support Scheme

If your course is not available close to home and you need to move in order to attend College, you may be able to get funding towards your rent.

Professional & Career Development Loan

This loan is available to help pay for course expenses. It is a bank loan that you will start to repay once your course has finished.
